Kinette Club of Cornwall Event to support Cystic Fibrosis and Hospice Cornwall

Cornwall - Feb. 08, 2011 - Plan on joining the Kinette Club of Cornwall as they host their 4th Annual Basket Auction in support of Cystic Fibrosis Canada and Hospice Cornwall. The event will be held on Wednesday March 9, 2011 at the Best Western Parkway Inn.

Currently one in every 3,600 children born in Canada has cystic fibrosis and 60% of people with cystic fibrosis are diagnosed in the first year of life, and 90% by age 10. The good news is that today, half of all Canadians with cystic fibrosis are expected to live into their 40s and beyond. There is no known cure for cystic fibrosis. However, research inspires real hope and events like this one add much needed dollars to the cause.

Recognizing the need of Cornwall and the United Counties' aging population, the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care funds part of the ongoing operational budget for the Hospice Cornwall, however the balance needs to be raised locally. The goal of Hospice Cornwall is to provide compassionate, end-of-life care for individuals who prefer not to be in a hospital and can no longer stay at home.

Evening cocktails and viewing begins at 6:30 pm, followed by Early Bird Specials from 6:30 to 7:00 pm. Dinner will be served at 7:00 pm followed by the Auction at 7:30 pm.
