Stoney Point - November 29, 2014 - Techumseh native and former Windsor Spitfires and Guelph Storm star Kerby Rychel will make his NHL debut tonight in Nashville. The Columbus Blue Jackets have called up Rychel and Michael Chaput from Springfield of the American Hockey League and reassigned forward Alexander Wennberg to Springfield.

Rychel, the 19th pick in the 2013 NHL Draft, has six goals, 13 points and 30 penalty minutes in 22 AHL games this season.

Rychel was part of a big OHL trade around this time last year that saw him move from Windsor to Guelph. The Spits sent Rychel and Nick Ebert to the Guelph Storm in exchange for Brody Milne and eight draft picks.

Rychel would end up getting a shot to play in the Memorial Cup with the Storm last season. This year, he has played with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.

Best of luck Kerby!
