Mountain Top - October 21, 2016 -

The WBS Penguins faced off against the Springfield Thunderbird's tonight at the Mohegan Sun Arena tonight. The first period wasn't so good for WBS the Thunderbird's scoring twice, yes one was waived immediately off for a high stick, still the Penguins left the ice for the first intermission looking at a 1-0 deficit.

Tristan Jarry made some nice stops for WBS in he first the one that Springfield got just snuck through the five hole in him. WBS had some nice chances during the first but just couldn't find an opening to get it past Berra.

Not much difference in the second period WBS seemed to have a little more going but could not find a way to get on the scoreboard. Tristan Jarry still coming up large with some nice saves keeping this a one point battle heading off the ice for the second intermission.

WBS wasn't getting it done on special teams tonight as far as the power play as they went 0 for 4 the PK however did it's job killing off all five of Springfield's chances. WBS did do a good job of getting the puck on net but Berra was stellar for the Thunderbird's keeping the Penguins out. Just wasn't a good night for WBS. Josh Archibald took a puck to the face in the third and headed off for repairs, hope he is ok. Penguins need to regroup and look forward to tomorrows game.

Tomorrow the Penguins take on the Syracuse Crunch puck drops at 7:05 see you there. Remember you can always get more information on our interactive schedule here.
