Detroit - September 6, 2013 - After a short summer break the Magic Man himself returned to Joe Louis Thursday, participating in an informal practice with a good portion of the team.

Datsyuk signed a three contract extension in the off-season and will look to continue showing off his dazzling deke’s and exceptional defensive play in the red and white through the 2016-17 season. Pavel tallied 49 points last year in 47 games averaging just over a point a game.

With the signing of Weiss and Alfredsson in the offseason, it is looking like Datsyuk and Zetterberg will be reunited on the top line to start the season. The added depth in Detroit’s forward line up may allow the duo to remain together for an extended period of time unlike seasons in the past.

Datsyuk and the Red Wings will head to Traverse City next week for training camp to prepare for the upcoming season.
