May. 14, 2013: The right to host the 2014 MasterCard Memorial Cup has been awarded to London. Congratulations to the Knights. The Windsor Spitfires organization believes it made a bid worthy of hosting the event. Our fan base, city and region, although disappointed with the decision of the site selection committee, should be very proud of the efforts put forward by our bid committee. FULL STORY

Apr. 7, 2013: With their first pick, #35 overall in the 2nd round of yesterday's OHL Priority Selection, the Windsor Spitfires elected Ryan Moore from the Detroit Belle Tire Minor Midgets. Moore is a 5'8, 150-pound centre that put up 24 goals and 24 assists and 54 penalty minutes in 36 games played in 2012-2013. FULL STORY

Feb. 28, 2013: Alex Broadhurst scored the winning goal at 1:06 of the third period, as the London Knights topped the Windsor Spitfires 5-2 on Thursday night in front of 5,719 at the WFCU Centre. Ryan Rupert scored twice for London (44-12-2-2), while Max Domi and Bo Horvat added singles. FULL STORY

That's Windsor Spitfires forward Remy Giftopoulos summarizing his thoughts on Daniel Nikandrov's goal with 12.3 seconds left to give the Sarnia Sting a 2-1 win. Spitfires, 67s game cancelled due to weather

Feb. 8, 2013: CFRA radio in Ottawa is reporting that tonights Ontario Hockey League game between the Ottawa 67s and the Windsor Spitfires has been cancelled due to inclement weather. It is reported that the Spits cannot get to Ottawa due to the poor weather conditions. The game will be re-scheduled to Saturday night at 7:30 pm. FULL STORY

Feb. 2, 2013: Jordan DeKort made 46 saves and Kerby Rychel had a pair of goals, including the winner, as the Windsor Spitfires dumped the Guelph Storm by a 3-1 final at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph on Friday night. Combined with a Peterborough win in Saginaw, the victory moved Windsor (21-22-1-6) within four points of the Spirit for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. FULL STORY

Jan. 24, 2013: It had to happen sometime. The Windsor Spitfires were riding a four-game winning streak heading into a crucial divisional match-up with the visiting Plymouth Whalers. Jan. 20, 2013: The Windsor Spitfires were able to rally from down two goals three times Sunday afternoon to defeat the Sarnia Sting 5-4 in front of a crowd of 6,383 at the WFCU Centre. Windsor stormed back in the third with three unanswered goals in a span of 5:14 from Alexander Khokhlachev, Josh Ho-Sang and Remy Giftopoulos.
