Windsor Fire Applications now available online
To address staff retirements, Windsor Fire and Rescue Services is initiating a firefighter recruitment, and City of Windsor Human Resources is pleased to announce that applications for the Firefighter Recruitment are now available online. The City of Windsor will accept applications for the Firefighter Recruitment from Friday, April 4, 2014 until no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014. No late applications will be accepted.

Windsor - April 4, 2014 - To address staff retirements, Windsor Fire and Rescue Services is initiating a firefighter recruitment, and City of Windsor Human Resources is pleased to announce that applications for the Firefighter Recruitment are now available online.

The City of Windsor will accept applications for the Firefighter Recruitment from Friday, April 4, 2014 until no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014. No late applications will be accepted.

To be considered for the Firefighter Recruitment with the City of Windsor’s Fire & Rescue Services Department, the minimum requirements are:

· At time of application, an applicant must be eighteen years of age or older.
· At time of application, an applicant must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
· At time of application, an applicant must possess an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency.
· At time of hire, an applicant must provide proof of a valid and lawful Class “D” driver’s license with “Z” endorsement in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act, for the purposes of operating a City of Windsor vehicle and provide a driver’s abstract as a condition of employment.

The City of Windsor prefers to accept applications for the Firefighter Recruitment on-line. Applicants who do not have access to a computer may submit an application to the Human Resources Department of the City of Windsor located at 400 City Hall Square East, Suite 408, Windsor, Ontario. The application will be entered on-line and the applicant’s receipt will be issued at that time. Please note computer access is available at your local library.
