Statement from Christine Elliott on Membership Sales
Earlier this evening, some highly questionable claims about membership sales circulated throughout media and social media. These claims are so erroneous that it would be unfair to all Progressive Conservative members to allow them to spread unchecked. Christine Elliott sent out the following statement on the issue.

Oshawa - March 1, 2015 - Earlier this evening, some highly questionable claims about membership sales circulated throughout media and social media. These claims are so erroneous that it would be unfair to all Progressive Conservative members to allow them to spread unchecked.

Unnamed PC Party “sources” have claimed our campaign has only submitted 13,000 memberships. Let us set the record straight. While the final tally is still being processed, that number does not even reflect half of the memberships we have sold.

These sales are on top of the strong base of support that Christine Elliott enjoys among existing members as well as the overwhelming support of members recruited by Vic Fedeli and Lisa Macleod before they withdrew from the race.

We will provide no further comment on our membership sales except to correct errors and will let the party continue their work of processing the memberships.

Our campaign has led this race from the beginning; in volunteers, fundraising, endorsements and most importantly in supporters across all of Ontario. Today has only reinforced our lead and our confidence that Christine Elliott will be elected the next Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario. Sincerely,

Christine Elliott
