Lakeshore Receives Provincial and Federal Funding
The Town of Lakeshore joins other municipalities in the receipt of $620,201 in one-time funding from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. The funding is to support small and rural municipalities’ efforts to become more efficient and reduce expenditure growth in the long-term.

Lakeshore - March 22, 2019 - The Town of Lakeshore joins other municipalities in the receipt of $620,201 in one-time funding from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. The funding is to support small and rural municipalities’ efforts to become more efficient and reduce expenditure growth in the long-term.

Lakeshore has also received funding from the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund (OMPF), an annual allocation in the amount of $564,100. This fund primarily supports northern and rural municipalities.

Today, Lakeshore learned the municipality is also receiving a one-time doubling of the Federal Gas Tax funding. This amounts to an estimated $1.8 million for the Town of Lakeshore.

This funding is used by the municipality to support infrastructure and enhance services in the municipality. As the fastest growing municipality in the region for the eighth straight year, Lakeshore maintains its position as one of the lowest property tax communities in Essex County. Government funding ensures the Town continues to provide optimal services to our residents and businesses.
