Lakeshore - May. 28, 2020:
Lakeshore is safely and gradually reopening a number of services and amenities in municipal parks for residents to enjoy. Following Provincial orders, dog parks, skateboard parks and tennis courts will be open effective Wednesday May 27.

“As the weather improves and people are getting outside, we are happy to provide these additional amenities to our residents,” stated Lakeshore Mayor Tom Bain.

Residents are welcome to head outside for fresh air and exercise to support physical and mental well-being, but are reminded to adhere to public health advice to not gather, practice physical distancing of 2m or 6 feet, or wear a face covering or non-medical mask to protect others when in settings where physical distancing cannot be maintained.

Lakeshore’s Belle River Marina and boat launch is open for those who wish to go fishing or boating. Marina patrons are requested not to gather on the docks.

Other park amenities such as playground equipment, public washrooms, pavilions and BBQs remain closed. Lakeshore is waiting for guidance from the province on when additional features can open.

The Town reminds the public Provincial guidelines of groups no larger than 5 remain in effect. If a resident arrives at an amenity that is crowded, they are advised to wait until there is enough space to physically distance or return at another time. As per the Provincial guidelines, team sports such as soccer, baseball, volleyball or football are not permitted at this time.

The Town also asks the public to dispose of garbage in receptacles and bring dog waste bags to the dog park as regular maintenance services may not be available at this time due to limited staff.
