A passion for hockey. A passion for Canada. A passion for the Winnipeg Jets. A number of writers from WinnipegWhiteout.com will be contributing stories to Our Hometown.

Who the heck is Grant Clitsome?

Kevin Cheveldayoff has said from the get go that the Winnipeg Jets will be a team building for the future. He made that evident when he drafted Mark Shiefle, who was relatively unknown to most fans. This brings us to the new guy, Grant Clitsome. He may not be a game changer like Byfuglien or as reliable as Enstrom, but he does bring something to the table.

Kane’s Concussion Controversy: Get over it!

Lately, Kane’s the word, and when I say Kane, I mean mum on what his Winnipeg Jets, the League, teammates and reps will disclose about all the ‘concussion talk’. What really happened? When? And with whom? Evander Kane seems to unfortunately be the target for a selective few bored Winnipegers with nothing better to do with their time than trash talk a player.

Can the Winnipeg Jets make the playoffs?

After a disappointing loss to the Montreal Canadiens the Winnipeg Jets sit in 10th place with 54 points - 5 points back of Florida for the Southeast lead and 3rd place, or 6 points back of Toronto and the 8th seed. The reality is sinking in that only one team from the southeast will likely make the post season. And if a second team does it’ll be a last day sneak in.

While the rent-a-player will be the most common commodity shopped over the next month, one of the most interesting names being tossed around is Columbus Blue Jackets F Jeff Carter.

They get a Winnipeg team that has dropped a shoot out loss to Florida at home and a 2-1 loss to Carolina last night on the road. There are few in New York that are concerned about this game but then we felt the same way about Carolina last night.

A chance to see a game in Winnipeg in the MTS Centre. A chance to be on-air and see how a show runs together with all the extra work off the air. I figured that it would do a lot of good for the Jets Hockey Podcast we do through the site as well. And I’d get to meet a whole bunch of people in and around the Jets organization.
