Privateers Take First Round

Mar. 12, 2012: What has become an infamous river rivalry between the 1000 Islands Privateers and the Akwasasne Warriors came to a close in 2012 as the Privateers beat the Warriors 6-2 to move on to the second round in the FHL playoff race. A Sunday night crowd of 1138 saw fierce play as both clubs fought for the chance to continue their season. With the win, the Privateers face the Danbury Whalers in round two next weekend. FULL STORY

Mar. 11, 2012: The Privateers evened the score against the Akwasasne Warriors in the 2nd playoff gamer at home at the Bonnie Castle Rec Center Saturday Night, 9-4. Led by a host of scores from Tibor Varga, the Privateers handled the Warriors in front of a home crowd of 1070 to even the post season effort at 1-1. FULL STORY

Mar. 9, 2012: The FHL announced their final three award winners for the "Leading Scorer","Top Goaltender and "Commissioners Special Recognition Award. The league scoring leader went to none other, then the Akwesasne Warriors forward Pierre Dagenais. FULL STORY

Feb. 18, 2012: The Akwesasne Warriors came back from a 3-1 deficit against Brooklyn going into the third period and won the game 4-3. The former New Jersey Devil and current FHL league leading scorer Pierre Dagenais had an assist on each of the Warriors first two goals. Dagenais scored the tying goal at 11:50 of the third period. Feb. 16, 2012: It appears that the future of the Akwesasne Warriors season may be in jeopardy pending payment of $14,000 in fines and penalties to the Federal Hockey League. Feb. 16, 2012: On a night when the Bluefins were again faced with a short bench due to injuries, owner/head coach Mike Nugnes did something that no one expected. He asked team president and Cape native, Brian Kolb to come out of retirement and lace up the skates vs. the Akwesasne Warriors. Jan. 29, 2012: The Akwesasne Warriors hosted the Delaware Federals in action tonight at the Ed Lumley Arena in the Cornwall Civic Complex. The Warriors moved across the St. Lawrence River to build their fan base for the remainder of the season. Delaware opened the scoring at the 3:55 mark on a goal by Alexander Tessier. FULL STORY

Jan. 28, 2012: The Brooklyn Aviators extended their winning streak to five after an 8-3 victory over the Akwesasne Warriors at the Aviator Sports and Events Center in Federal Hockey League action. Lucas Schott and Casey Mignone each had two goals on the night, while the A's power-play went 6-for-10 to help fuel the offense. FULL STORY

Warriors earn split of two game homestand against Outlaws

Jan. 27, 2012: The Akwesasne Warriors came out fighting tonight and split their two game homestand against the New Jersey Outlaws winning 6-3. Once again the game started with a fast pace and the Warriors had to kill off an early Trevisani high sticking penalty before Nicholas Corbeil opened the scoring at the 12:34 mark of the first period. Jan. 21, 2012: The Danville Dashers would not go away easily on Friday night as they took the Warriors to overtime at the Anowarako:wa Arena. Danville, playing their eighth road game in ten nights, took to the ice flying and opened the scoring at the 5:36 mark of the first on a Dustin Skinner goal. Pierre Dagenais tied it up four minutes later pounding in his own rebound as Dasher goalie Lindoff was out of the play after making a big save FULL STORY
