Pigskin Picks - Austen picks Cowboys to upset Patriots
Glenn Austen releases his fearless picks for Week Six of the NFL Season. If Tony Romo can avoid the late game interceptions that have plagued him in recent weeks, the Pats are vulnerable through the air, and Dallas has a defense that on paper at least, has a shot to slow down the powerful Patriots passing attack.

Antigonish - October 15, 2011 - Glenn Austen releases his fearless picks for Week Six of the NFL Season.

LOCK of the Week - St Louis Rams @ Green Bay Packers
Contrary to pre-season expectations, St Louis has been awful this year, and it will not get any easier against Superbowl champion Green Bay. The St Louis D is not likely to have any answers for the powerful Green Bay offence, with Aaron Rodgers and his deep receiving corps staking a claim as the top passing unit in the league. St Louis QB Sam Bradford seems to have fallen victim to the sophomore slump, and there is not enough support around him to keep pace with the Packers. Green Bay wins easily.

UPSET of the Week - Dallas Cowboys @ New England Patriots

It might be folly to bet against Brady and the Patriots at home, where they have an enviable record, but Dallas is a far better team than their recent late game collapses suggest, and if Tony Romo can avoid the late game interceptions that have plagued him in recent weeks, the Pats are vulnerable through the air, and Dallas has a defense that on paper at least, has a shot to slow down the powerful Patriots passing attack. What the heck, that is why they would call it an upset should Dallas prevail. Cowboys win!

Jacksonville Jaguars@ Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers seem to have found their groove again, and when Big Ben Roesthlisberger is on a roll, watch out! Blesses with surprising mobility and a cannon of an arm, as well as the leagues best deep threat in Mike Wallace, Big Ben and the Steelers can win on the ground or through the air. Jacksonville, meanwhile, seems content to muddle through a long season with a rookie QB at the helm, and precious little else save RB Maurice Jones Drew. It won't be enough. Steelers win.

Cleveland Browns at Oakland Raiders

These Raiders are for real folks! One of the leagues best rushing attacks is led by dynamic Darren McFadden, with QB Jason Campbell proving surprisingly effective as a move the chains and occasional big play passer. While the Browns too can boast a solid running game led by Peyton Hillis, and improved QB play courtesy of young Colt McCoy, winning on a day dedicated to honoring recently deceased owner Al Davis, whose motto was "Just win baby!", will be on every Raiders mind. Oakland wins!

Houston Texans @ Baltimore Ravens

Houston, a preseason favorite to usurp the Colts as AFC South champs, have been hit hard by the injury bug recently, losing star WR Andre Johnson to hamstring issues and star LB Mario Williams for the season. It should prove the difference against a talented Ravens team that for the first time in a while can boast an offense the equal of its defense. Look for the Ravens to take advantage of home field and the big name Texans injuries to prevail. Ravens win
