Sting escape from Windsor with shootout win over Spitfires
Reid Boucher scored in the sixth round of the shootout, as the Sarnia Sting escaped the WFCU Centre with a 3-2 win over the Windsor Spitfireson Monday afternoon in front of 5,283 Ontario Hockey League fans. The Spits earned a point but lost for the third consecutive game.

Windsor - October 8, 2012 - Reid Boucher scored in the sixth round of the shootout, as the Sarnia Sting escaped the WFCU Centre with a 3-2 win on Monday afternoon in front of 5,283.

Derek Schoenmakers (2) and Ben Johnson (2) scored for the Spitfires (3-3-0-2), who earned a point but lost for the third consecutive game.

After a scoreless 20 minutes, Schoenmakers got Windsor on the board at 2:39 of the second period, banging home a rebound off an Emerson Clark shot. Nick Latta tied things up just 24 seconds later for Sarnia (3-3-0-1), before Reid Boucher (18:42) made it 2-1 Sting on the power play.

Johnson's goal 19 seconds into the third period made it 2-2. It stayed that way until Boucher beat Jaroslav Pavelka low to the blocker side to end the game. Schoenmakers, Kerby Rychel, Josh Ho-Sang, Michael Clarke, Brady Vail and Clark all missed shootout attempts for the Spits.

Pavelka made 31 saves in a losing cause. JP Anderson stopped 32 for the win.
