Windsor - October 20, 2012 - The Windsor Spitfires are now 6-0 in the 2012-13 Ontario Hockey League Season when they outshoot their opponents. Tonight the Spits outshot the Erie Otters by a count of 39-19 and won the game 3-2, in front of 2,652 fans at the Erie Insurance Centre.

Once again, Kerby Rychel lead the way for Windsor with two goals. Chris Marchese and Josh Ho Sang each tallied two assists. Jimmy McDowell and Connor McDavid replied for the Otters. Derek Schoenmakers opened the scoring for the Spitfires.

With the win, Windsor (6-4-0-3) now has 15 points on the season and move two points ahead of the idle Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds for first place in the Western Division. Goaltender Jaroslav Pavelka registered the win for the Windsor, who secured four out of a possible six point this weekend.

Windsor’s powerplay went 2-for-5 on the night. Coming into tonight’s game, the Spits had only registered three powerplay goals. Clearly, improved powerplay production and outshooting the Otter contributed to the Spitfires improving their road record to. 500.

Fifteen year old rookie sensation McDavid, scored again tonight to improve his point scoring streak to 11 games. He has only been kept off the scoresheet in his first OHL game versus the Niagara IceDogs.

The Spitfires are on the road again next weekend as the WFCU Centre plays host to Skate Canada. Next Thursday they head east on the 401 to take on the Sarnia Sting, Friday they play the Storm in Guelph, followed by a trip to Owen Sound to play the Attack.
