Noesen's Big Night sends Spits to third straight loss

Plymouth - November 10, 2012 - Stefan Noesen had two goals and two assists, as the Whalers topped the Spitfires 5-3 on Friday night in front of 3,869 at the Compuware Arena.

Chris Marchese had a goal and two assists for Windsor (8-8-0-4) in his first game back after missing three with an upper-body injury.

The game turned on a pair of Plymouth goals in a 32-second span early in the second period. After Michael Whaley made it 3-1 at 2:35, Noesen's first of the game and 11th of the season - the eventual winner - made it 4-1 at 3:07.

A Michael Clarke (7) power play goal cut the lead to 4-2 at 5:30.

But Noesen struck again, on the power play, putting the game out of reach at 5-2 with eight minutes to play.

Jaroslav Pavelka was, once again, oustanding in goal for the Spits, making 46 saves.

Matt Mahalak picked up the victory in goal for Plymouth (10-5-2-1) with a 34-save effort.

The game featured 19 power plays, with each team scoring three times.

The Spitfires are off for the remainder of the weekend, but will be back at it on Thursday, November 15 th, as they host the Saginaw Spirit at 7:05 on BMO Ultimate Spitfires Fan night.
