Plymouth - November 22, 2012 - Goals by Alex Aleardi and Zach Bratina in a 54-second span late in the second period were more than enough, as the Whalers blanked the Spitfires 3-0 in Plymouth on Wednesday night.

Tom Wilson scored what would be the game winner in the first period, as Plymouth (12-7-3-1) moved into sole possession of first place in the West Division.

The Spitfires got more outstanding goaltending from Jaroslav Pavelka, who made 49 saves. But for the second straight game, Windsor (9-10-1-4) was unable to find the mark, running its goalless drought to 134:27.

Plymouth outshot the Spits 39-12 over the final 40 minutes, as the Spits dropped below .500 for the first time in more than a month.

Next up, the Spitfires take on the Saginaw Spirit, kicking off a stretch of three straight at the WFCU Centre on Friday night (7:05 PM).
