Windsor - November 27, 2012 - The Spitfires are proud to host our annual 'Sparky's Toy Drive' and 'Teddy Bear Toss' nights this week, in support of the holiday season efforts of the Windsor Firefighters Association Benefit Fund.

Sparky's Toy Drive goes this Thursday, November 29th, as we host the Barrie Colts.

Fans are encouraged to bring a new unopened toy to the game, to help the Windsor Firefighters "Fill the Boot" with donations to Sparky's Toy Drive. Firefighters will be on hand to collect toys at the entrances to the WFCU Centre and fans can also donate money during intermissions on the concourse.

On Sunday, December 2nd, as we host the Ottawa 67s, fans are encouraged to bring new, unused teddy bears to the game and throw them on the ice when the Spitfires score their first goal.

All toy, teddy bear and cash donations go to the Windsor Firefighters Association Benefit Fund, which helps families in need in our community enjoy a better Christmas.

ABOUT THE WINDSOR FIREFIGHTERS BENEFIT FUND
Originally established in 1921, the Fund's original purpose was to help firefighters who had fallen on hard times due to illness, injury or financial difficulties through fundraisers, donations and assistance. In addition to its own members, the modern Fund now supports various charitable causes and families in need through its year-round efforts.
