Colts double Spits, Windsor comeback bid falls short
Third period goals by Brady Vail and Adam Bateman got the Spits close, but the comeback fell short in a 4-2 loss to the Barrie Colts on Thursday night at the WFCU Centre.

Windsor - November 30, 2012 - Third period goals by Brady Vail and Adam Bateman got the Spits close, but the comeback fell short in a 4-2 loss to the Barrie Colts on Thursday night at the WFCU Centre.

Trailing 3-0, Vail scored a shorthanded goal just past the midway point, before Adam Bateman cut the lead to one with his first of the season at 15:52.

Awarded a power play with 1:17 to play, the Spits took a timeout and pulled Jaroslav Pavelka (25 saves), but couldn't find the equalizer before Mark Scheifele scored into an empty net with 35 seconds to play.

Kerby Rychel assisted on both Windsor (10-12-1-4) goals.

Steven Beyers had a goal and an assist for Barrie (19-7-0-1).

The Spits are back at it Friday night in Kitchener, as they take on the Rangers in the Friday Night Game of the Week on Sportsnet.
