Spits edge Generals on late Murphy goal to sweep weekend
Trevor Murphy scored twice, including the winner on the power play with 1:50 to play, as the Spitfires eeked out a 3-2 win over the Oshawa Generals on Sunday afternoon in front of 5,670 at the WFCU Centre.

Windsor - December 10, 2012 - Trevor Murphy scored twice, including the winner on the power play with 1:50 to play, as the Spitfires eeked out a 3-2 win over the Oshawa Generals on Sunday afternoon in front of 5,670 at the WFCU Centre.

Kerby Rychel (19) had the other goal for Windsor (14-12-1-5), which completed a weekend sweep that included wins over Sarnia and Sault Ste Marie.

Goals by Michael Dal Colle and Bradley Latour staked Oshawa (17-12-1-2) to an early 2-0 lead, before Murphy's fourth of the season cut the lead in half at 17:54 of the first period.

Rychel's team-leading 19th goal tied the game during a 5-on-3 late in the second period.

Murphy's winner came after Oshawa was whisted for too-many-men on the ice with just 2:09 to play.

Jaroslav Pavelka won his third straight decision, making 24 saves. Daniel Altshuller made 21 for the Generals.

The Spits suit up again on Thursday, December 13th, as the Kitchener Rangers come to town.

Gametime is 7:05.
