Most recently, he's served as head programmer for 2 major international film festivals, developing many lasting relationships with filmmakers, talent, and distributors - and in 2011, he served as Head Juror for the Genie Awards Nominations Committee. He is a passionate supporter of the Edmonton arts community, relishing his role as an ambassador to the city and province, and is currently in development on his own documentary film project. Let there be Peace on Earth and in Alberta!
Peace Out, the feature documentary about Northern Alberta & BC’s Gas Fracking, Nuclear proposal, Hydroelectric and Oil Sands, a film that critics are hailing as fair, balanced, passionate, and breathtaking is coming to Edmonton’s Garneau Theatre this week.

Edmonton - July 6, 2012 - Peace Out, the feature documentary about Northern Alberta & BC’s Gas Fracking, Nuclear proposal, Hydroelectric and Oil Sands, a film that critics are hailing as fair, balanced, passionate, and breathtaking is coming to Edmonton’s Garneau Theatre this week.

Director/writer Charles Wilkinson (Down here, The Highlander, The Working Director) and producer Tina Schliessler (Bushwhack, The Dragon) self-financed this micro-budget feature documentary that was awarded a prestigious ‘Special Jury Prize’ for Best Canadian Film at this year’s Hot Docs Film Festival in Toronto. The film also won the Most Popular Canadian Documentary at the 2011 Vancouver International film festival, Audience Choice at the 2012 Available Light Film Festival, and it was the official Opening Night Gala film at the 2012 Global Visions Film Festival right here in Edmonton.

Peace Out returns to Edmonton this week, for an exclusive engagement at the historic Metro Cinema at the Garneau - don’t miss it!
