OPP release names of victims in Chatham-Kent fatal crash
Police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal motor vehicle collision which occurred last evening around 6:02pm on Highway 401 between Drake Road and Dillon Road which claimed the lives of two Toronto residents. Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision.

Chatham-Kent - July 24, 2012 - Police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal motor vehicle collision which occurred last evening around 6:02pm on Highway 401 between Drake Road and Dillon Road which claimed the lives of two Toronto residents.

Police have confirmed the identities of the deceased as;

Muthuluxmiammal,SHANMUGARETNAM, female passenger, age 78 from Toronto, ON

Swaminathar Tharmart,SELVAKUMARAN, male driver , age 41 from Toronto, ON

A 3 year old male from Toronto was transported to Chatham Health Alliance Hospital and later airlifted to Victoria Hospital in London. He remains in critical condition.

A 35 year old female from Toronto, who police initially believed to be a teenage female, was also transported to Chatham Hospital in critical condition and later transported by land ambulance to Victoria Hospital. She remains in critical Condition.

A 56 year old male passenger from Toronto was transported to Chatham Hospital with minor injuries.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision.

Highway 401 was closed in both directions for approximately 6.5 hours and reopened around 12:30am
