McCann, Hughes light it up at Day Two of Spitfires Camp
Known for his gritty play more than his offensive prowess, veteran forward Brenden McCann showed off his ability to put up points Wednesday, scoring three goals and adding an assist in a pair of scrimmages on Day Two of on-ice competition at Spitfires training camp.

Windsor - August 30, 2012 - Known for his gritty play more than his offensive prowess, veteran forward Brenden McCann showed off his ability to put up points Wednesday, scoring three goals and adding an assist in a pair of scrimmages on Day Two of on-ice competition at Spitfires training camp.

Fighting for a spot on the roster, rookie Cameron Hughes was all over the ice, chalking up five assists. Nick Ebert had a goal and two assists, while Jordan Maletta (1G, 1A), Mitchell Graham (1G, 1A), Michael Clarke (2A) and Hunter Smith (2A) all hit the scoresheet with a pair of points.

GAME ONE: TEAM RED 5 TEAM WHITE 2 - AM SCRIMMAGE
McCann scored twice, while Hughes chipped in three helpers, as Team Red scored built a 4-1 lead on its way to a 5-2 win over Team White in the early session. Jordan McNaughton, Patrick Sieloff and Jack Billings had the other goals for Team Red. Sam Studnicka and Mitchell Graham replied for Team White.

Hughes was back at it in the afternoon, assisting on goals by McCann and Brandon Devlin, as Team Red completed the sweep. Graham, Jake Flegel and Ebert scored the other goals for Team Red. Jared Leslie wrapped a strong two days with a goal (his fourth of training camp) and Tim Perks had the other marker for Team Blue. Jordan DeKort and Dalen Kuchmey faced just 18 shots in the victory. The tandem of Jaroslav Pavelka and Robert Kopytek-MacKenzie combined to stop 23 in a losing cause for Team Blue.
