Toronto - November 21, 2012 - Entertainment Tonight Canada has today the star-studded lineup for its 4th annual ‘New Year’s Eve at Niagara Falls,’ the country’s largest New Year’s Eve party. The two-hour coast-to-coast countdown hosted by Cheryl Hickey and Matte Babel, with the help of Rosey Edeh, begins at 10pm (local time) on Global.

Hosted from one of North America’s natural wonders, the year-end celebration will feature performances by some of music’s hottest acts. The evening will start with a bang as JUNO Award-winning electro-pop trio Dragonette takes the stage, followed by a high-energy performance by multiple platinum, JUNO Award-winning Vancouver pop group Hedley. Chart-topping, GRAMMY® and multi-JUNO Award-winning artist Nelly Furtado will keep the crowd dancing as the clock ticks down to midnight. The performers along with the hosts will gather onstage to countdown with Canada to 2013.

“Year after year, ET Canada’s celebration continues to grow as Canadians flock to Niagara Falls to be part of the action,” said Barb Williams, SVP of Content, Shaw Media. “With a stellar musical lineup and spectacles to match, ET Canada knows how to throw a party that will have people talking well into the new year.”

Between performances, Cheryl and Matte will introduce a bevy of A-listers who will have special holiday greetings for Global viewers. And sparks will fly as 2000 pounds of fireworks launch from the Skylon Tower, Niagara Gorge, and for the first time, directly above the Falls!

New this year, ET Canada will go live from Niagara Falls during its regular timeslot - 7:30pm ET/PT on December 31. In addition to airing exclusive interviews with the performers, the show will see Cheryl and Matte take viewers behind-the-scenes to get a glimpse of the hugely anticipated evening ahead.

Last year’s New Year’s Eve celebration peaked at 12:01am with 2.0 million viewers with a total reach of 5.1 million (2+, national) tuning in, while the annual event itself attracted over 60,000 people to Queen Victoria Park in Niagara Falls.
