Windsor - February 16, 2013 - "It's the worst feeling you can imagine in sports."

That's Windsor Spitfires forward Remy Giftopoulos summarizing his thoughts on Daniel Nikandrov's goal with 12.3 seconds left to give the Sarnia Sting a 2-1 win.

The loss, Windsor's third straight, put their playoff chances on life support.

"It sucks a lot. Everybody's pretty down," said rookie Pat Sanvido. "You could see the mesh move (on Nikandrov's goal), it was just deflating. We were so close to getting at least one point and it just sucks."

Since the Saginaw Spirit, who entered the night seven points ahead in the standings, lost to the Oshawa Generals the Spitfires didn't lose any ground in the standings.

Only time.

And time is now their greatest enemy with just 13 games to play.

With a home-and-home set with the Spirit this weekend, two wins will buy the Spits a little more time.

Two losses, however...

Time's up.
