Edmonton - August 4, 2012 - Rosie MacLennan earned Canada their first Gold medal of London Olympics, with a near flawless routine in Trampoline on Saturday afternoon. The native of King City, Ontario beat out China's Shanshan Huang and Wenna He in taking home top spot. Canadian teammate Karen Cockburn finished fourth, despite watching He fall during the end of her routine. MacLennan's medal now gives Canada eight for the games, 1- Gold, 2 - Silver and 5 - Bronze.

With the win, MacLennan becomes the first Canadian to earn a Gold Medal in Trampoline and further solidifies Canada's spot among the very best in the sport. Cockburn, who had medaled at the previous three Olympics, hugged her teammate when the final standings were posted, as her good friend and teammate could not hold back her tears of joy.

It was obviously disappointing for the Stouffville, Ontario Olympian to finish off the podium but this day belonged to MacLennan and she couldn't of been happier.
