Cornwall and area is mourning the loss of a good friend, a respected priest, educator and author. Monsignor Rudy Villeneuve passed away late this afternoon at the Cornwall Hospice. He was 87. Visitation and funeral arrangements are under the care and control of Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street Cornwall.

Cornwall - Jun. 20, 2011 - Cornwall and area is mourning the loss of a good friend, a respected priest, educator and author. Monsignor Rudy Villeneuve passed away late this afternoon at the Cornwall Hospice. He was 87.

Visitation and funeral arrangements are under the care and control of Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street Cornwall.

VILLENEUVE, Monsignor Rudolph â€" Monsignor Rudy Villeneuve at Hospice Cornwall on Friday June 17, 2011 at the age of 87 years. Beloved son of the late Domina and Helena (Cleary) Villeneuve. Dear brother of Reverend Cleary Villeneuve SFM, and Marion Haramis (Nick), both of Cornwall. Predeceased by his brothers Dr. Bernard Villeneuve (late Florence), Edmund Villeneuve (Betty), and one sister Verna Hynes (late Gordon). Sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews, and his special cousin Gwen Morris (late Howard). Resting at the Wilson Funeral Home 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall where friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Solemn Translation to St. Columban’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday thence to lay in state for visitation from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The Mass of the Resurrection with Commendation and Farewell will be celebrated in St. Columban’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday June 22, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Rite of Committal to follow in Precious Blood Parish Cemetery, Glen Walter, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate contributions in his memory to Hospice Cornwall or the Monsignor Rudy Villeneuve Foundation for Post Secondary Scholarships.
