The following is an official media release and/or announcement from the Ontario Provincial Police: Corey McDonald, 24 of North Dundas Twp is charged with; Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content. He is scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on August 2, 2011.

Long Sault - Jul. 20, 2011 - The following is an official media release and/or announcement from the Ontario Provincial Police:

CONTRABAND SEIZED
(South Glengarry) - On July 18, 2011, at approximately 8:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of suspicious vehicles observed at a property on Concession Road 2, South Glengarry Township (Bainsville). Further investigations resulted in a quantity of contraband cigarettes being located (and seized) from an outbuilding on the property.

SD&G OPP and the Regional Task Force are investigating. Anyone with information on the above is asked to call SD&G OPP at 613-534-2223.

COLLISION RESULTS IN CHARGES LAID
(North Dundas) - On July 19, 2011, at approximately 11:45pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on County Road 43, North Dundas Township (east of Boundary Road). Further investigation revealed the driver of a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier had lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. The male driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He and a male passenger received minor injuries.

He is scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on August 2, 2011.

MISCHIEF
(South Stormont) - On July 19, 2011, SD&G OPP received a report of mischief to vehicles at a business property on Headline Road, South Stormont Township. Over the past weekend (15-18Jul11), several vehicles were spray painted while parked on the lot.

THEFT OF BICYCLE
(North Glengarry) - During the day of July 19, 2011, a boy’s mountain bike was stolen from a property (Day Camp) on Kincardine Street East, Alexandria. The bicycle is described as a Kawasaki “Mecha 20”, blue & orange in color.

Of note…this bicycle had been awarded as a prize to a young boy last year as part of SD&G OPP’s “Wear it to Win” helmet safety contest.

VEHICLE IMPOUNDED FOR EXCESSIVE SPEED
(South Dundas) - On July 20, 2011, at approximately 3:00am, an SD&G OPP officer stopped an eastbound vehicle on Highway 401, South Dundas Township for speeding 166km’h in a posted 100km/h zone. The 26yr old male from Longueuil PQ was charged accordingly and his licence seized and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

He is scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on October 4, 2011.
