SNAPSHOT - Lake Erie water levels down 19 inches
Kingsville - Oct. 20, 2012 - My wife and I took a drive through Essex County Saturday afternoon, and one of our stops was Kingsville. When we got to the end of Division Street, we both noticed that the level of Lake Erie seemed to be much lower than the last time we were there. Recently the Pelee Island ferry M.V. Jiimaan ran aground on a sandbar in Kingsville Harbour, and according to at least one media report, the low lake level was a possible factor.

After returning home I did a little research, and the US Army Corps of Engineers website states that the level of Lake Erie is 19 inches lower than it was last year. This photo was shot where Division Street ends.
