Cornwall - Jan. 29, 2011 - The City of Cornwall Recreation Department has a number of programs available for area residents. Registration for Aquatic Centre and Leisure Arts programs are ongoing until courses are filled. Mail in or register in person at the Cornwall Aquatic Centre. For more information all 613-933-3586.

Recreational Swimming
Beat the Winter blahs at the Aquatic Centre. Join them for one of the many swims offered. Early Bird, Rehab, Preschool, Adult/Senior, Fitness, Leisure and Family Swims.

Aquatic Centre Memberships and Aqua Fitness Classes
Get fit and have fun! Need some help sticking to your New Year's resolution? Get a membership at the Aquatic Centre or join one of the many Aqua Fitness classes.

Swimming Lessons
Register early for Winter 2 session to avoid disappointment. Session begins February 14 and ends April 23. Programs offered include: Red Cross Swim, Preschool and Kids Program, Swim Patrol - Rookie, Ranger, Star - Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, N.L.S., Assistant Water Safety Instructor, Red Cross Adult Lessons, Red Cross Teen Sport Lessons, Synchronized Swimming, Aqua Fitness - shallow, shallow low impact (Heartwise approved), deep and post stroke.

Floor Hockey
Boy and girls aged 6 to 8 and 9 to 12 years - April 6 to May 11. Weekly sessions will work on shooting, passing, stick handling, shootouts, teamwork and mini-games. Children can bring their own gloves and sticks. All players must wear helmets and full face shields. Limited number of helmets and sticks are available..

Basketball
Boy and girls aged 6 to 8 and 9 to 12 years - March 1 to April 12. Program for all skill levels. The focus will be on shooting, passing, dribbling, teamwork and more.

Nothing But Net Sports
Boy and girls aged 6 to 8 and 9 to 12 years - April 19 to May 24. Introductory class for a number of sports and games that involve a net such as Floor Hockey, Basketball, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Pickle Ball and Soccer. Emphasis will be on cooperation, teamwork and fun!

Youth Volleyball
Boys and girls aged 11 to 14 years -January 26 to March 30. Great opportunity to have fun and work on volleyball drills and skills. Each week will feature games to practice skills learned.

Adult Table Tennis
Mondays from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the former Jean XXIII school. All level of players are welcome to drop in for single and double matches weekly.
