Maxville - Mar. 31, 2011 - Maxville may be best known for the Highland Games, but the Glengarry community is also becoming well known for one extremely charitable family.

Maxville couple Fred and Bonnie Cappuccino have raised two biological children and 19 adopted children from 11 different countries. They also founded Child Haven International, an organization that assists children in developing countries who are in need of food, shelter, health care and other necessities.

The couple's compassion for others has garnered them a lot of attention in the past, and it is putting them in the spotlight once more.

CTV has produced a feature story on the Cappuccino family and Child Haven for an W5 episode that will air this weekend.

The feature, entitled "Children's Champions," profiles the work of the Cappuccino family and how they have helped to improve the lives of children both in Canada and around the world.

The show features a visit to a Child Haven home in Kaliyampoondi, India.

"W5 sees first hand the tireless efforts of 76-year-old founder Bonnie Cappuccino, known affectionately by the hundreds of children under her care as 'Bonnie Ma'," reads an intro the show.

The show will air on Saturday at 7 p.m. on CTV. If you happen to miss it then, it repeats on Sunday at noon.
