Cornwall - Apr. 9, 2011 - A sweet time can be had by all at the upcoming Cabane a sucre event in Cornwall's Le Village district.

The three-day event kicks off on Friday with a Royal Parade and concerts by local musicians Graham Greer and Joel Sauve.

Other highlights of the event include the showing of the film "Incendie" at the Port Theatre (Saturday and Sunday night at 7 p.m.), a concert by French Cajun performers Grouyan Gumbo on Saturday night (7 p.m.) and a Saturday afternoon Justin Bieber tribute show at the Port - the first live performance at the venue in more than 50 years.

The event will kick off on Friday at 12:30 p.m. at the Monument de la Francophonie on Water Street, followed by a royal parade to the Port Theatre, the home base for the festival.

Rose Desnoyers, the president of the Centre Culturel de Cornwall, and Coun. Syd Gardiner, the Grand Marshall of the event, are encouraging everyone to come out and support the event.

Desnoyers said the Cabane a sucre provides a great opportunity for people to get away from the TV and computer and enjoy some music and camaraderie.

"It's a community celebration," she said.
