Cornwall - Feb. 11, 2011 - A multi-point game for Jacob Laliberte usually translates into a win for the Cornwall Colts, but that wasn't the case on Friday night.
The Colts captain notched a goal and two assists during a visit to Smiths Falls, but it wasn't enough as the Bears pulled out a 4-3 win.
The Bears hit the scoreboard first with a goal from Manny Gialedakis early on in the first period. It stayed that way until early in the second when Laliberte tied things up.
The teams then traded a pair goals before Bears forward Mike McNamee scored his second of the night and the eventual game-winner late in the middle frame.
Youssef Kabbaj and Kyle Baun had the other markers for the Colts.
The loss for the league-leading Colts turned out to be a gain for the Pembroke Lumber Kings, who defeated Brockville 4-3 on Friday night to pull within five points of Cornwall in the league standings.
The Colts will have several days to regroup before facing Brockville in a home-and-home series starting Thursay at the Cornwall Civic Complex (7:30 p.m.).
