Aviators force Game 4 against Akwesasne
The New York Aviators defeated Akwesasne 6-3 on Friday night to force a Game 4 in the best-of-five Federal Hockey League finals.

Akwesasne - Mar. 25, 2011 - The New York Aviators aren't going down without a fight.

The A's brought their "A" game to Akwesasne on Friday night, defeating the Warriors 6-3 in Game 3 of the Federal Hockey League finals to keep their championship hopes alive by forcing a Game 4.

The teams will face off again tonight on Cornwall Island (7:35 p.m.) as Akwesasne - currently leading 2-1 in the series - looks to win the inaugural FHL championship on home ice. Game 5, if necessary, will be played on Monday in New York.

The Aviators went on an offensive tear on Friday night, firing a total of 42 shots on the Warriors' net. Things were close up until the midway point of the second period when New York connected for three straight goals to pull ahead for good.

Dan Tessier had a pair of goals for Akwesasne, while Pierre Dagenais had the other marker. New York got goals from Casey Mignone, Andrew Scampoli, John Goffredo, Nick Vandenbeld, Angelo Serse and Stephen Obelnicki.
