Cornwall - Oct. 12, 2011 - The Nepean Raiders were able to accomplish something that other CCHL teams have not been able to this season. The Raiders beat the Cornwall Colts 4-2 on Tuesday night to hand Ian MacInnis’ squad its first loss of the 2011-12 season.

Cornwall opened the scoring on a first period goal by Michael Borkowski but the Raiders’ Jamie Oliver tied it at one before the end of the first frame.

Nepean outscored Cornwall 2-1 in the middle period on goals by Dalen Hedges and Craig Cowlie. Borkowski notched his second of the game and seventh of the season to keep the Colts close at 3-2. Brendan Watt sealed the victory for Nepean with an empty netter in the final minute of the game.

It was a tame affair with only 16 minutes in penalties. The Colts outshot the Raiders 29-27 in front of 841 fans at the Ed Lumley Arena in Cornwall. The three stars were Cowie (1st), Borkowski (2nd) and Nepean’s Matt Zawadzki (3rd).

The Colts are back in action Thursday night when they play host to the Carleton Place Canadians.
