Penguins Pull Out OT Win Over Admirals
The Admirals were looking to get things started right from the start setting a fast pace from the puck drop.

Wilkes-Barre - January 24, 2015 -

The WBS Penguins took on the Norfolk Admirals tonight for the second game in two days at the Scope in Norfolk. The Admirals were looking to get things started right from the start setting a fast pace from the puck drop.

Norfolk would get on the scoreboard first tonight , a turnover behind the WBS net creates the chance a centering pass from Karlsson to Etem and Etem puts it home giving the Admirals the lead early in. Not long after the Norfolk goal WBS comes back collecting a failed clear by the Admirals Tom Kuhnhackl gets the puck to Jayson Megna who lifts it past Jason LaBarber making it all even at one each.

That would be all the scoring for the first Bobby Farnham and Joseph Camarossa had a little tiff but Bobby Farnham got the better of Camarossa. At the bell it was all knotted up at one a piece with forty more minutes of regulation left.

WBS getting a chance in the second on the power play as Chris Wagner gets whistled for hooking WBS let’s the chance slide by getting a few chances but not converting score remained 1- 1.

Norfolk would get their first chance on the power play as Nick Drazenovic gets called for a trip, WBS kills it off then ends upp on the power play as Camarossa sat for a rough but WBS not able to get anything past Labarbera. The Pens would get another chance on the power play this their third of the game as the Admirals get called for too many men on the ice, WBS would not convert and at this point are now 0/3 on the power play. END of two it was still 1-1.

The last period starts with 4 x 4 hockey neither side gets the advantage WBS would give Norfolk the first power play of the third period as Derrick Pouliot sat for a boarding call, WBS would get two short handed chances but would not find the opening.

Scott Wilson would net the Penguins second goal putting his team ahead 2-1 and putting him on a four game goal streak. Norfolk scores on the power play not even going to get into the breakdown because it was a 4×3 then 5×3 then 5×4 but it doesn't matter it ended it 2-2 after all was said and done and less then 5 minutes in regulation as Norfolk scored on the power play.

That is where the game would end well regulation anyway both sides getting a point out of the night as they headed for OT.

WBS would get a break in the begining of the OT as Norfolks Kerdiles would take a holding penalty putting the Pens on the power play, but the Pens can’t find it.

Just when you think things were not going to go right the Pens capitalize on an Admirals turnover ending up with Tom Kostopoulos putting it past Jason LaBarbera, after a quick review the refs said good goal, giving the WBS Penguins the OT win and the second point on the night and the second win on the weekend against the Admirals.
