New York - Apr. 27, 2019: Craig Berube of the St. Louis Blues, Jon Cooper of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Barry Trotz of the New York Islanders were named Friday as finalists for the Jack Adams Award, given annually to the coach voted as the best in the NHL. The winner will be announced at the 2019 NHL Awards presented by Bridgestone at the Mandalay Bay Events Center sports and entertainment complex in Las Vegas on June 19. FULL STORY

Tampa Bay - Mar. 27, 2019: Jon Cooper signed a multiyear contract Tuesday to remain coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Cooper has coached the Lightning to at least the Eastern Conference Final in three of the past four seasons. They lost the 2015 Stanley Cup Final in six games to the Chicago Blackhawks, were defeated by the Pittsburgh Penguins in seven games in the 2016 conference final, and lost the conference final in seven games to the Washington Capitals last season. The Canadiens, who have a League-leading 100 points, will clinch a playoff spot if they defeat the Winnipeg Jets (8 p.m. ET; RDS, SNE, TSN3) in regulation or overtime, and the Anaheim Ducks defeat the Boston Bruins (7 p.m. ET; NHLN-US, TVA Sports, PRIME, NESN) in any fashion, or if the Bruins defeat the Ducks in a shootout. Tampa Bay - Mar. 2, 2015: The Tampa Bay Lightning acquired defenseman Braydon Coburn from the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday for defenseman Radko Gudas, a first-round draft pick and third-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft. Coburn, 30, has one goal and eight assists in 39 games this season. He has 166 points (37 goals, 129 assists) and 504 penalty minutes in 614 games between the Atlanta Thrashers and Flyers. For the most part, they limited Washington’s scoring chances (something they hadn’t done in either of the first two meetings between the clubs). Their penalty killing was suburb, as they erased four Washington power plays.
