Wilkes-Barre - October 24, 2015 -

Things got off to a quick start tonight, for Springfield that is. The Falcons netted their first goal just 6:43 into the first period. The Penguins would tally a goal that was over turned for goaltender contact.

Later in the first WBS would even things up on a Scott Wilson goal. Lots of action in the first period you wouldn’t have guess these guys played last night then took a bus ride from Springfield to play tonight. At the buzzer it was 1-1 heading off for the intermission.

Lots of end to end actions again in the second period Springfield would get the go ahead goal 4:40 into the period making it 2-1. The Falcons would jam one in after the whistle and the play was reviewed, ref ruled no goal.

Tempers flared a little in the second but not to badly WBS kept it together not taking any stupid penalties. At the second intermission WBS trailed Springfield 2-1.

Third period Springfield was looking to seal the deal looking for the insurance goal to put a nail in WBS’s coffin but Matt Murray and the boys were having none of it.

Tom Kuhnhackl and friends evened things up at two just over six minutes into the third making this game a dog fight.

Back and forth hockey right to the buzzer tonight both sides giving it everything looking for the win. Well regulation would end even at two both squads taking a point out of tonight’s game and on to OT.

It wouldn’t take long. Dominik Simon would take. Gorgeous back hand shot top shelf beating Domingue and tallying the WBS Penguins winning goal just 36 seconds into OT. WBS Penguins win 3-2 earning the second point on the night. Matt Murray is now 6-1 against the Falcons with 4 shutouts.
