Power play lifts Spitfires in Mississauga
Four power play goals – including three in a 2:59 stretch of the first period – lifted the Windsor Spitfires to a 4-1 win at the Hershey Centre against the Mississauga Steelheads on Friday night. Cole Purboo (4), Cole Carter (3) and Aaron Luchuk (3) broke up a scoreless first period on the man-advantage and Logan Brown assisted on all four Windsor (3-1-0-0) goals.

Mississauga - September 30, 2016 - Four power play goals – including three in a 2:59 stretch of the first period – lifted the Spitfires to a 4-1 win at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga on Friday night.

Cole Purboo (4), Cole Carter (3) and Aaron Luchuk (3) broke up a scoreless first period on the man-advantage and Logan Brown assisted on all four Windsor (3-1-0-0) goals.

Carter added his team-leading fourth at 4:06 of the second period, and added an assist. He leads the team in both goals and points (7).

Shaw Boomhower’s first Ontario Hockey League goal was the only one for Mississauga (1-2-0-0).

Mario Culina made 24 saves, as the Spitfires made it a perfect two-for-two on the road on the young season.

The club now heads to Oshawa where they will take on the Generals Sunday evening (6:05).
