2016-17 Hometown Hockey NHL Playoff Pool - register today

Stoney Point - Apr. 10, 2017: It is that time of year again. It is time for the NHL Playoffs, where 16 teams compete for the Stanley Cup, first team to win 16 games will capture hockey's holy grail. When my Dad was alive, he enjoyed running a playoff pool each season. Since his passing in 2008, his tradition has continued and we are ready to launch the 21st Annual Hometown Hockey Playoff Pool. Sparks and Kapanen recalled by Maple Leafs

Windsor - Mar. 27, 2017: On Monday, the Toronto Maple Leafs recalled goaltender Garret Sparks and Right Winger Kasperi Kapanen from the Toronto Marlies of the AHL. Starting goaltender Frederik Andersen left Saturday's game against the Buffalo Sabres with an upper body injury. Forward Nikita Soshnikov was injured a few games ago against the Boston Bruins. Windsor - Mar. 24, 2017: Windsor Spitfires overage forward Jeremiah Addison has inked a three-year, entry-level contract with the Montreal Canadiens, the team announced today. Addison, 20, was Montreal's 7th round pick (207th overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. FULL STORY

Ottawa - Aug. 21, 2016: Ottawa Senators (@Senators) general manager Pierre Dorion announced today that the club has signed forward Logan Brown to a three-year entry-level contract. Brown, 18, was the Senators’ first-round pick (11th overall) at June’s NHL Draft in Buffalo. He established new major junior career highs with 74 points (including new highs of 21 goals and 53 assists) and 40 penalty minutes while appearing in 59 regular-season games in his second full campaign with the Ontario Hockey League’s Windsor Spitfires in 2015-16.

Maple Leafs call up Nylander and Kapanen
Toronto - Feb. 29, 2016: The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Monday that the club has recalled forwards William Nylander, Kasperi Kapanen, Nikita Soshnikov, Zach Hyman, and Ben Smith from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, forwards Mark Arcobello, Brendan Leipsic and Josh Leivo were loaned to the Marlies.
Senators acquire Phaneuf from Maple Leafs
Ottawa - Feb. 9, 2016: The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that the club has acquired defenceman Dion Phaneuf, forward Matt Frattin, forward Casey Bailey, forward Ryan Rupert and defence prospect Cody Donaghey from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for defenceman Jared Cowen, forwards Colin Greening, Milan Michalek and Tobias Lindberg as well as Ottawa’s second-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft. No salary will be retained by either team over the trade’s entirety.
