Learn how to preserve your summer produce this August
Learn how to preserve your summer fruits and vegetables this August by attending a 2-part engaging workshop series called “Extending the Harvest”, hosted by All Things Food and taught by local resident and Redhead Pantry chef Shaun Funk.

Mountain - Jul. 28, 2011 - Learn how to preserve your summer fruits and vegetables this August by attending a 2-part engaging workshop series called “Extending the Harvest”, hosted by All Things Food and taught by local resident and Redhead Pantry chef Shaun Funk.

On August 13th and 20th from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., discuss the 100-mile diet and learn how to dehydrate, blanch, freeze, brine, pickle and more in a small and engaging workshop setting. Workshops will be a combination of discussion and hands-on activities. Take-homes will include items such as fruit roll-ups, dill pickles, and canned tomatoes and peaches.

Both workshops will be held at Chesterville Trinity United Church. Sessions are limited to 15 participants per session and cost $5.00 each to participate. Register early to reserve your space!
