AEFO announce Next Steps in Job Action

The AEFO Board of Directors met late this afternoon and decided to suspend walkouts from March 9 to 27, 2020. This decision does not mean that AEFO is giving in to the school boards and the Minister of Education, says Rémi Sabourin, AEFO President.

Ottawa - Mar. 7, 2020:
The AEFO Board of Directors met late this afternoon and decided to suspend walkouts from March 9 to 27, 2020.

“This decision does not mean that AEFO is giving in to the school boards and the Minister of Education. On the contrary, AEFO will use this time to further explore its options. A working session with all 12 local unit presidents, representing regular and occasional teachers, is planned for March 11 to determine what future job action could be implemented. These options will then be presented to the Board of Directors,” says Rémi Sabourin, AEFO President.

AEFO will be holding talks with the government and the Employer Bargaining Agency (EBA*) on March 10 and 11.

Phase 3 of work-to-rule continues.
