Nurse inked to entry-level contract by Oilers
Less than a month after being selected 7th overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, DARNELL NURSE has signed with the NHL club. It was announced earlier today that the Hamilton, ON product has agreed to terms with the Edmonton Oilers on a three-year entry level contract.

Sault Ste. Marie - July 25, 2013 - Less than a month after being selected 7th overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, DARNELL NURSE has signed with the NHL club.

It was announced earlier today that the Hamilton, ON product has agreed to terms with the Edmonton Oilers on a three-year entry level contract.

"Darnell's signing a 3 year contract is a great step for him towards realizing his goal of playing in the National Hockey League. As an organization we are very happy for Darnell and his family, and we look forward to him continuing to maximize his potential should he return to Sault Ste. Marie for one or two more seasons" stated Greyhounds GM Kyle Dubas.

Today's announcement comes just weeks prior to Nurse heading to the Team Canada World Junior Sumer Camp to be held in Brossard, QUE and Lake Placid, NY.

This past season, the 6.05, 192 lb rearguard tallied 12 goals and 29 assists (41 points) in 68 regular season games before adding four points (1g,3a) in six post-season games.

He was named the OHL Scholastic Player of the Year recipient (Bobby Smith Award) at the conclusion of the OHL campaign.
