Cornwall - Feb. 14, 2011 - It was a successful weekend for the St. Lawrence College Sharks as the women's hockey and indoor soccer teams had strong showings in inter-collegiate tournament play.

On Friday, the Sharks women's hockey team earned the silver medal and the Fair Play Award at the Conestoga Invitational.

A day later, the Sharks women's indoor soccer team played their way into the semi-final at the George Brown Invitational. The Sharks went 2-2 in the round robin to earn second place in the division and advanced to the semi-final, where they fell 3-1 to George Brown Alumni #1.

The Sharks got on the board first in the semi-final with Kim Lebrun's shot getting past the GB Alumni netminder, who had yet to let in a goal in the tournament. However, as the game wore on and some tired legs set into play, the Sharks conceded three unanswered goals to bow out in a 3-1 loss.

Up next for the Sharks women's soccer team is the OCAA East Regionals, which will take place on March 11 and 12 in Peterborough.

Meanwhile, the Sharks men's soccer team continued its preparation for the OCAA East Regionals next month by competing in the George Brown Invitational on Saturday.

The men's team went 0-3 on the day, however they showed a tremendous amount of fight and intensity in their matches.
