With school over for mostly everyone, Cornwall Motor Speedway has decided to kick off the summer with a great promotion. All kids 18 years and under will get in for free in general admission this Sunday, June 26 at Benson Auto Parts and Goodyear will be the main sponsor.

Cornwall - Jun. 25, 2011 - With school over for mostly everyone, Cornwall Motor Speedway has decided to kick off the summer with a great promotion. All kids 18 years and under will get in for free in general admission this Sunday, June 26 at Benson Auto Parts and Goodyear will be the main sponsor.

On the schedule, a full program involving the Modifieds, Sportsman, Pro-Stock and Semi-Pro, the SpeedSTR will make their annual visit to the speedway as the Mini-Stock will have a night off. We encourage race fans to bring your camera, pens and paper as we will have a photo and autograph session during the intermission. A busy break as it will be the start of ``Speedwayidol``, fans will have the chance to show their talent behind a microphone; great prize will be given to the winners at the end of the season.

Battle for the championships are going strong in every category. The parity is really strong in 2011 in the Modified class as no driver has won two features this year - five features and five different winners. The points are really close as Stéphane Lafrance currently leads the way with 292 points, a 8-point lead over rookie Chris Raabe and Laurent Ladouceur who are tied at 284 points. Former track champions Carey Terrance and Joel Doiron completes the top five.

Veteran runner Chris Herbison leads the way in the Sportsman as he already has good lead over 2010 rookie of the year, Jeff Philipps. Teammates Cole Dingwall and Shane Pecore are tied in fourth with Mitch Primeau rounding out the top five.

In the Pro-Stock, current track champion Joey Ladouceur is in good shape to keep is crown with already three wins and 324 points, a 44-point lead over Dave Bissonnette who is second with 280. Corey Wheeler is third with a 10-point deficit on Bissonnette, Veterans George Renaud and David Papineau, are tied for fourth with 266 points.

Kevin Fetterly Jr, is currently on top of the point`s chart in the Semi-Pro with a 45-point advantage over Joe Woods. Rookie Michael McCargar is third followed by Jonathan Galipeau and Kevin McRae.

Newcomer Ernie Cree is having a great start in the Mini-Stock with already three wins and the lead in the points over Mathieu Aubin and Mike Gaucher.
