Colts bounce back into win column with 5-0 thrashing of Hawks
Colts goalie Pete Karvouniaris stopped all 17 shots thrown his way as the Colts defeated the Hawkesbury Hawks 5-0 on Saturday.

Cornwall - Feb. 25, 2011 - The Colts got just what they needed on Saturday - a convincing win to help them forget about their recent losing streak.

Jacob Laliberte also got what he needed as he continues to hunt down a spot in the team record books. The Colts captain scored a hat trick in the team's 5-0 thrashing of the Hawkesbury Hawks on Saturday to reach the 129-point mark, just one point shy of Hugo Boisvert's team scoring record.

Laliberte seemed intent on tying the record Saturday as he was responsible for a good number of the Colts' 53 shots in the game.

The home team controlled the play throughout the game, and the flood gates opened roughly midway through the first period as Connor Primeau, Laliberte and Mitch Zion scored three quick goals to give the Colts a 3-0 lead.

Laliberte added his second and third goals in the final two periods, while Pete Karvouniaris stopped all 17 shots fired his way to record the shutout for the Colts, who now sit one point behind Pembroke for first overall.

The Colts are back in action Thursday when the Cumberland Grads visit the Cornwall Civic Complex (7:30 p.m.).
