Ottawa - Aug. 23, 2011 - The Ottawa Senators and Rogers Sportsnet announced today the 52-game broadcast schedule for the 2011-12 season of Scotiabank Senators Hockey on Rogers Sportsnet and Sportsnet Sens. Coverage begins on Friday, Oct. 7, when the Senators begin their 20th anniversary season in Detroit against the Red Wings at 7 p.m.

In addition to Rogers Sportsnet East’s 45-game Senators broadcast schedule, seven games will air on Sportsnet Sens. Rogers will broadcast 13 match-ups against the Senators’ six Canadian opponents (including four against the Winnipeg Jets), in addition to four games against the defending Stanley Cup-champion Boston Bruins.

“For the second straight season, Rogers Sportsnet will broadcast each and every game that is available regionally,” said Cyril Leeder, president of the Ottawa Senators. “With 52 games televised, this partnership continues to allow fans throughout the region and our broadcast territory to turn to Sportsnet for the most in-depth Senators coverage.”

Other highlights of the Scotiabank Senators Hockey on Rogers Sportsnet and Rogers Sportsnet Sens schedules feature 24 games originating from Scotiabank Place, 15 games on Tuesdays, 13 on Thursdays, nine on Fridays, seven on Sundays, six on Mondays and two on Saturdays. Four of Ottawa’s six afternoon games (Jan. 7 at Philadelphia, 1 p.m.; Jan. 21 at Anaheim, 4 p.m., Feb. 20 at the N.Y. Islanders, 1 p.m. and April 1 at the N.Y. Islanders, 1 p.m.) will also be broadcast on Rogers Sportsnet East.

The 52 games on Rogers Sportsnet brings the Senators broadcast schedule to 81 games with the Feb. 15 contest at Florida representing the lone regular-season contest not currently scheduled to be televised. The national broadcast schedules from CBC and TSN were announced last week.
