Cornwall - Feb. 13, 2012 - The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) will launch the Marketing Booster Program to help Cornwall companies develop solid marketing strategies. The first session of this affordable results-oriented program starts March 7 and is designed to support local growing businesses with limited marketing resources.

“Increasing top line sales ranks high on the small business agenda, so we developed the Marketing Booster Program to specifically address this need," says Angela Besner, Account Manager, at BDC. "Small businesses will initially grow using an ad-hoc marketing approach, but they eventually need a structured strategy to ensure long term profitability and access new markets."

The Marketing Booster Program is a 12-week project that combines small group sessions and extensive one-on-one coaching. The group format is cost-effective and allows participants to effectively share their experiences and brainstorm with like-minded entrepreneurs. "Group dynamics is one of the most effective aspects of the Marketing Booster Program and we already have clients who rave about their increase in sales after having completed our program," adds Besner.

The Marketing Booster Program starts on March 7 at the Ramada Inn and Conference Centre three half-day group sessions held at weekly intervals. A BDC marketing consultant will lead training on nine key areas and will provide one-on-one coaching to help participating company develop and implement a specific marketing strategy.

Marketing Booster Program areas:

- Customer Relationship Management
- Competition
- Positioning
- Creating a Marketing Action Plan
- Managing Products and Services
- Managing Communications
- E-Business
- Managing Distribution
- Managing Your Sales Team.

Enrolment in the Marketing Booster Program is limited. Participants are expected to be either the business owner and/or the individual responsible for marketing, for a maximum of two persons per company.
