Edmonton - July 9, 2012 - FC Edmonton announced on Monday that midfielder Bryan Arguez has been taken on loan from the Montreal Impact, in Major League Soccer (MLS), in order to add depth to the line-up.

Arguez, who joined the Impact on November 24, has not played in any MLS regular season games. He has taken part in four games in the MLS Reserve League and one game with the Impact U21.

In 2011, he played 19 games (2,065 minutes) with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, helping the team reach the NASL playoff finals, where they beat FC Edmonton and Arguez notched his only goal and assist of the season.

In 2007 he went eleventh overall in the MLS Superdraft to DC United, although he never made an appearance with the first team. From 2008 - 2009 he moved to Hertha BSC - a German Bundesliga side where he played one game with the first team and 10 with their reserve side.

After travelling around a little, Arguez wound up in the NASL with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in 2011. After 19 team appearances (over 2,000 minutes) and a successful season there, Arguez was picked up by the newly promoted Montreal Impact. He was discovered by the Impact while they were interested in a teammate of Arguez at the Strikers.
,br> “[Arguez] caught my attention when I was watching [Gerson] Mayen’s progress with the Strikers,” Montreal head coach Jesse Marsch admitted on the league’s website. “Bryan had been the best player in that team.”

Arguez has played with the U-17 US Men’s national team - earning 27 caps. He has also made appearances with the U-20 national team - and was named in the 2007 U-20 World Cup roster. He has one cap in 2008 for the U-23 team. Arguez will join Edmonton immediately.
