Let Maple Leafs Feel The Love
I love my Toronto Maple Leafs. Always have. Always will. And as much as I have a hard time watching them these days, I still do. I’ll admit that during this current slide I have not watched many complete games. I even flipped the channel to watch The Mentalist after the first period of the recent game against Ottawa.

Windsor - February 5, 2015 - I love my Leafs. Always have. Always will. And as much as I have a hard time watching them these days, I still do. I’ll admit that during this current slide I have not watched many complete games. I even flipped the channel to watch The Mentalist after the first period of the recent game against Ottawa.

I’ve endured the jokes, multiple e-mails, good natured kidding, and many offers to jump the tracks and root for another team. As frustrating as it’s been lately, I just can’t turn my back the team I have cheered for since the late 60s.

And if you’re a Leafs fan, I know you can’t either.

So I have an idea. Here’s how we’re going to get them out of this funk. This Saturday night, when the boys hit the ice to take on the Edmonton Oilers, I want everyone at the ACC to stand up and cheer. Loudly. Yep, a standing ovation. Let them hear you. Let them see you. Don’t throw your sweater on the ice. Wave it. Don’t wear a bag on head. Fill it (the bag, not your head) with noise makers, and pass them around. Cheer them every time they touch the puck.

Rock the joint.

Because you’re a Leafs fan. And you love your team. I do.

I love my Leafs. Always have. Always will.
