Interest in Leafs, Sens game pre-empted by The Mentalist

Jan. 22, 2015: In the latest edition of the “Battle of Ontario”, two .500 clubs going in different directions took to the ice in Ottawa. Taking a 3-0 lead into the dressing room after one period, the Senators appear to be in good shape. That was enough for me.... I’m switched to watch The Mentalist with the Missus. FULL STORY

Maple Leafs: Horachek clichés simply don't cut it

Jan. 20, 2015: These were three of the many clichés that Toronto Maple Leafs interim coach Peter Horachek used in an interview prior last night’s Leafs/Hurricanes contest. And unless you’ve had your head in the sand lately, you know that going into last night’s game, the Leafs have lost their last four, scoring only once in that stretch. In ten days the Buds have gone from the second highest scoring team in the NHL to the ninth. FULL STORY

Leafs Fade in the Third (Again), Losing to Wild

Jan. 3, 2015: In somewhat of an understatement, the current Toronto Maple Leafs road trip has not been kind to the boys. After the sixth of a seven game road trip, their longest of the season, the Buds have only managed four of a possible twelve points. In their defense, this road trip has been brutal, and after a match in Winnipeg Saturday night, they will have played five games in seven nights. FULL STORY

Maple Leafs Solve Bruins On A Milestone Night For Phil Kessel
Maple Leafs Solve Bruins On A Milestone Night For Phil Kessel

Jan. 1, 2015: Quick! Leafs fans! How many regular season points did Phil Kessel have last night before the game against his old team? If you answered 498, you did well. Starting on a line with Joffrey Lupul and Tyler Bozak, the Leafs winger needed two points to put him in the 500 club. FULL STORY

Leafs Go Into Christmas Break On A High
Leafs Go Into Christmas Break On A High

Dec. 24, 2014: After a three game losing skid, the Toronto Maple Leafs rode into Texas Tuesday night, and are heading back home on a positive note, after shutting out the Dallas Stars 4-0. James Van Riemsdyk had the hot hand, scoring once and setting up two more to put the Buds back in the win column. FULL STORY

Leafs Get Blown Away In The Windy City
Leafs Get Blown Away In The Windy City

Dec. 22, 2014: Earlier tonight, prior to game time, I made a bold faced prediction. I told anyone who would listen that the Toronto Maple Leafs would start James Reimer in goal, and in the process, beat the Chicago Black Hawks 3-1. At least I got the Reimer part right. I thought that the Buds would try to make up for their last two abysmal efforts against a couple of the NHL’s bottom feeders, Carolina and Philadelphia, but I was wrong. FULL STORY

Bernier leads Maple Leafs to Victory over Flames

Dec. 10, 2014: These days, as Jonathan Bernier goes, so go the Toronto Maple Leafs. Starting his career high ninth straight game, Bernier led the Blue and White to a 4-1 win over the Calgary Flames Tuesday night. Bernier was stellar, shutting down the Flames in the first period, as Calgary out-chanced the Leafs with several quality chances. FULL STORY

Leafs Fall To Pens In OT

Nov. 27, 2014: On a night when the Leafs honoured former coach Pat Quinn with a shamrock sweater patch, the Pittsburgh Penguins rode a Blake Comeau hat trick into the win column. Comeau scored his third goal during the overtime period to lift the Pens to a 4-3 win over the blue and white. Comeau didn’t take long to set the pace, scoring 26 seconds into the first period, marking the fourth game this season that Jonathan Bernier has given up a goal in the first two minutes of a game. Steve Miller Band Rocks WFCU Centre

Nov. 20, 2014: Some people call him the Space Cowboy. Some call him the Gangster of Love. Some people call him Maurice……call him what you want - I call him one of the greatest guitarists in rock. Steve “Guitar” Miller rode into town Tuesday night and left a very appreciate crowd at Windsor’s WFCU Centre wanting more. FULL STORY

Sabres hammer Maple Leafs on Nolan's Anniversary with team

Nov. 16, 2014: One year ago tonight, Ted Nolan made his return as the bench boss of the Buffalo Sabres. That night, his charges beat the Leafs 3-1. Tonight, on his anniversary, his Sabres put an even bigger hammer down on the Toronto Maple Leafs with a 6-2 victory. FULL STORY
