Aug. 21, 2016: Mother Nature had a hard time deciding how to behave Saturday, but she sure gave us some pretty skies while she was thinking about it. Here are some clouds shot in Riverside over Belle Isle after the sun went down. Thank you, Mother Nature!! FULL STORY

SNAPSHOT - Victory 1 Cruises to Chicago

Aug. 12, 2016: If you thought you were seeing things at Dieppe Park Thursday, you weren’t. The cruise ship Victory 1 made a port call to our fair city en route to Chicago as part of a ten day Great Lakes Grand Discovery Cruise. The ship leaves Toronto or Montreal, depending on the cruise, and makes its way to Chicago, touching each of the five Great Lakes in the process FULL STORY

When Harry’s Met Corky

Aug. 7, 2016: I have a new friend and his name is Harry. Harry’s a sharp guy, some might say razor sharp. And he sure has a handle on things. Yes, I too have joined the Harry’s revolution. For those of you who haven’t heard, Harry’s is currently taking the shaving world by storm, offering a variety of shaving supplies delivered directly to your door for far less than you would pay at the drug store. Jun. 11, 2016: Yesterday I half jokingly said that the University of Windsor should think about turning Abar's into a satellite campus for the History Dept. They would, of course, have to negotiate with the Moroun people. Perhaps a land swap with something closer to the bridge. FULL STORY

Memorial Cup 2017 Coming To Windsor
Memorial Cup 2017 Coming To Windsor

May. 2, 2016: this morning’s long awaited announcement that the Windsor Spitfires will play host to the 2017 MasterCard Memorial Cup. In a press release from the Spits, OHL Commissioner David Branch was quoted as saying “The city of Windsor and Essex County is home to some of the most passionate fans in the entire Canadian Hockey League.” Commissioner Branch is right. We love our hockey, and we love our Spitfires. Think back to May 2010 when the Spits won their second Memorial Cup in a row. FULL STORY

Red Wings spoil Babcock's Homecoming

Oct. 10, 2015: Mike Babcock made his return to the Motor City Friday night along with his new team, but it was his old team that spoiled the party. In a highly anticipated matchup, the Detroit Red Wings hosted the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Joe Louis Arena and came out on the winning end of a 4-0 score. FULL STORY

Sep. 28, 2015: Blood Moon is sometimes used to describe a Total Lunar Eclipse. When the Earth casts its shadow on a Full Moon and eclipses it, the Moon may get a red glow. This photo was sent to us by OH columnist Tim Cornett. FULL STORY

What about Keon and Horton?

Sep. 19, 2015: On a drizzly Saturday afternoon last week, in the centre of the hockey universe, the latest bronze statues of Leafs past were unveiled. Legends Row welcomed two new members, as the likenesses of Borje Salming and Mats Sundin joined those of Johnny Bower, Ted Kennedy, and Darryl Sittler. In my humble opinion there are others who should have been cast in bronze before them. FULL STORY
