Bernier leads Maple Leafs to Victory over Flames
Bernier leads Maple Leafs to Victory over Flames

Dec. 10, 2014: These days, as Jonathan Bernier goes, so go the Toronto Maple Leafs. Starting his career high ninth straight game, Bernier led the Blue and White to a 4-1 win over the Calgary Flames Tuesday night. Bernier was stellar, shutting down the Flames in the first period, as Calgary out-chanced the Leafs with several quality chances. FULL STORY

Leafs Fall To Pens In OT
Leafs Fall To Pens In OT

Nov. 27, 2014: On a night when the Leafs honoured former coach Pat Quinn with a shamrock sweater patch, the Pittsburgh Penguins rode a Blake Comeau hat trick into the win column. Comeau scored his third goal during the overtime period to lift the Pens to a 4-3 win over the blue and white. Comeau didn’t take long to set the pace, scoring 26 seconds into the first period, marking the fourth game this season that Jonathan Bernier has given up a goal in the first two minutes of a game. Nov. 20, 2014: Some people call him the Space Cowboy. Some call him the Gangster of Love. Some people call him Maurice……call him what you want - I call him one of the greatest guitarists in rock. Steve “Guitar” Miller rode into town Tuesday night and left a very appreciate crowd at Windsor’s WFCU Centre wanting more. FULL STORY

Sabres hammer Maple Leafs on Nolan
Sabres hammer Maple Leafs on Nolan's Anniversary with team

Nov. 16, 2014: One year ago tonight, Ted Nolan made his return as the bench boss of the Buffalo Sabres. That night, his charges beat the Leafs 3-1. Tonight, on his anniversary, his Sabres put an even bigger hammer down on the Toronto Maple Leafs with a 6-2 victory. FULL STORY

Leafs win 100th edition of The Battle of Ontario
Leafs win 100th edition of The Battle of Ontario

Nov. 9, 2014: Tonight’s game in our nation’s capital wasn’t on this season’s original NHL schedule. This was the make-up game that was rescheduled from Oct 22nd, when Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was shot and killed while guarding the Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier in Ottawa. The theme tonight was “Canada Strong”, and both the Leafs and Senators showed unity earlier in the day by visiting the National War Memorial together, with both team captains placing wreaths in honour of Cpl. Cirillo. FULL STORY

Maple Leafs make it two in a row with win over Blue Jackets
Maple Leafs make it two in a row with win over Blue Jackets

Nov. 1, 2014: The Toronto Maple Leafs won their second game in a row last night in Columbus, and I already know what you’re thinking. The two teams they beat were the lowly (I could have said hapless) Buffalo Sabres and the injury riddled Blue Jackets. But as a Leafs fan you take the positive anywhere you can. And for the last two games the boys have played solid hockey, regardless of the opponent. FULL STORY

Brodeur to the Toronto Maple Leafs?

Oct. 18, 2014: During Friday night’s Leafs/Wings broadcast it was pointed out that Lefs GM Dave Nonis was in Edmonton, leading to speculation that there may be some trade winds blowing. Could there be a play that involves James Reimer, Nail Yakupov and Martin Brodeur? FULL STORY

Maple Leafs fall to Red Wings, Kozun Injured

Oct. 18, 2014: If you’re a Toronto Maple Leafs or Detroit Red Wings fan, you had Friday’s game circled on your calendar. The first of a home and home weekend series between two old rivals was sure to be an entertaining affair. The Leafs came out with all cylinders firing, and for a good part of the first period the play was in the Detroit zone. FULL STORY

Staal to Toronto? Too High A Price
Staal to Toronto? Too High A Price

Oct. 15, 2014: In a recent column, my esteemed colleague Chris Savard would have Carolina Hurricane’s Eric Staal looking all blue and white for the princely sum of Tyler Bozak or Nazem Kadri, and Jake Gardiner as well as a first round draft pick. While I would love to see Staal doing what he does with a Maple Leafs crest on his sweater, I say no way. FULL STORY
