Leafs win wacky game in Florida

Mar. 4, 2015: Goaltending Coach Robb Tallas of the Florida Panthers stands in the hallway dressed for back up after both Goaltenders went down against the Toronto Maple Leafs at the BB&T Center on March 3, 2015 in Sunrise, Florida. The Leafs held on to win their first road game since New Year’s Eve, beating the Panthers 3-2. FULL STORY

SNAPSHOT - Three good guys, put 'er there!

Mar. 1, 2015: Every once in a while, you think of a cool shot that you'd like to take. When three of this season's Spitfires lost a few of their of their chiclets I thought I'd ask them to get together and give me a big smile. The fellas were kind enough to oblige me this afternoon. In separate incidents this year, Jamie Lewis lost three, Hayden McCool lost two, and Luke Kirwan lost one. Thanks for humouring me, guys! FULL STORY

Maple Leafs: So that is what a win feels like

Feb. 22, 2015: Ah….so that’s what a win feels like. Feels pretty good. Saturday night, at the Air Canada Centre the Toronto Maple Leafs played host to the Winnipeg Jets, and played a pretty decent game before another sold out crowd. James van Riemsdyk sent everyone home happy when he scored in overtime to give the Leafs a much needed win. FULL STORY

Mark Habros Retiring

Feb. 9, 2015: A friend of mine will be retiring this week, and I’m happy for him. I’m also happy for his wife and family. After over twenty five years in the steel industry, Mark Habros will be hanging up his safety helmet this Thursday. Mark (also known as Habs), is originally from Hamilton, and is a long suffering Buffalo Sabres fan. He is counting down the days to the NHL draft, with visions of Connor McDavid dancing in his head. Last time the Maple Leafs lost 10 straight, they won the Stanley Cup

Feb. 7, 2015: The Toronto Maple Leafs went to New Jersey last night with one thing on their minds. Break out of the disastrous slump they are in. Having gone into the game without a win in their last ten games, the Buds were looking forward to taking on the sub .500 Devils. Not only did they lose, they created a new team record for futility by breaking the old one set by the 1966-67 version of the team. Yep, the same team that was the last group of Leafs to win the Stanley Cup. FULL STORY

Let Maple Leafs Feel The Love

Feb. 5, 2015: I love my Toronto Maple Leafs. Always have. Always will. And as much as I have a hard time watching them these days, I still do. I’ll admit that during this current slide I have not watched many complete games. I even flipped the channel to watch The Mentalist after the first period of the recent game against Ottawa. Interest in Leafs, Sens game pre-empted by The Mentalist

Jan. 22, 2015: In the latest edition of the “Battle of Ontario”, two .500 clubs going in different directions took to the ice in Ottawa. Taking a 3-0 lead into the dressing room after one period, the Senators appear to be in good shape. That was enough for me.... I’m switched to watch The Mentalist with the Missus. FULL STORY

Maple Leafs: Horachek clichés simply don't cut it

Jan. 20, 2015: These were three of the many clichés that Toronto Maple Leafs interim coach Peter Horachek used in an interview prior last night’s Leafs/Hurricanes contest. And unless you’ve had your head in the sand lately, you know that going into last night’s game, the Leafs have lost their last four, scoring only once in that stretch. In ten days the Buds have gone from the second highest scoring team in the NHL to the ninth. FULL STORY

Leafs Fade in the Third (Again), Losing to Wild

Jan. 3, 2015: In somewhat of an understatement, the current Toronto Maple Leafs road trip has not been kind to the boys. After the sixth of a seven game road trip, their longest of the season, the Buds have only managed four of a possible twelve points. In their defense, this road trip has been brutal, and after a match in Winnipeg Saturday night, they will have played five games in seven nights. FULL STORY

Maple Leafs Solve Bruins On A Milestone Night For Phil Kessel
Maple Leafs Solve Bruins On A Milestone Night For Phil Kessel

Jan. 1, 2015: Quick! Leafs fans! How many regular season points did Phil Kessel have last night before the game against his old team? If you answered 498, you did well. Starting on a line with Joffrey Lupul and Tyler Bozak, the Leafs winger needed two points to put him in the 500 club. FULL STORY
